Galiany and presented in a gilded frame Frame height 58 cm Frame width 50 cm Canvas dimensions H 50 cm x W 31 cm Re-coating Renowned Parisian artist, Eugène Galien Laloue had as his teacher his father Charles Laloue, a theater decorator painter Orphaned of his father at the age of 17, he left school to support his family (eldest of 9 boys) and joined the Société Française des Chemins de Fer to draw the layout of the tracks from Paris to the provincial stations. He took the opportunity to paint landscapes of the surrounding countryside and then the districts of Paris. He varied the tone of the sky, the appearance of the trees, the light according to the seasons, by animating the places with characters. He participated for many years in the Salon des Artistes Francais, and held numerous exhibitions. Several of his works are in French museums as well as in New York. He had numerous pseudonyms.
