"Toshimitsu Signed Okimono"
A very beautiful Japanese okimono carved in boxwood representing an old man, seized by a demon. The anatomy is very refined as are the folds of the clothes. The background is signed Toshimitsu (俊光). (attribute Shimamura Toshimitsu)
The okimono has no holes for the belt and can therefore also be considered an okimono. Overall, a beautifully refined sculpture. Japan, Meiji period, 19th century. Condition: Very good, a tiny chip of 1mm on the hand of the demon. Barely visible.
