Money changer's desk in rosewood, walnut and ash fillet marquetry Louis XIV period 17th century. Top inlaid with walnut fillets in counter-grain highlighted with ash fillets forming geometric patterns on a rosewood background. The rosewood sides have a diamond in a walnut frame in counter-grain highlighted with ash fillets. The front has eight inlaid drawers divided into two boxes, separated by a door inlaid with walnut fillets in counter-grain with geometric patterns on a rosewood background. The top is divided into two parts, one removable and the drawer on the front tilts revealing an interior inlaid with rosewood and plum wood composed of three small drawers. It rests on eight small ball feet in blackened wood. Drawers mounted in oak, locks working with three keys. Original lock entries in gilded bronze.
