This is a smaller version of the monument that Antonin-Clair Forestier (1865-1912) made in 1897 and that can be admired in Saint-Germain-en-Laye. Another copy is in the Musée d'Orsay in Paris.
This beautiful sculpture rests on its original column in serpentine marble.
The sculpture is an allegory: (man: wind, woman: leaf). The Hurricane represented by a man carrying the leaf symbolized by an overturned woman.
