"Mid-20th Italian Pair Of Lamps In Cut Crystal And Gilt Bronze Gherardo Degli Albizzi - Firenze"
Pair of lamps in cut crystal and gilded bronze produced by Gherardo degli Albizzi in Florence around 1970. Gherardo degli Albizzi's atelier opened in 1960 in Florence on Via Maggio, a few steps from Palazzo Pitti, and immediately specialized in reproductions of antique-style chandeliers, candelabras and appliques, combining ancient manufacturing techniques with prestigious materials: the crystals are hand-ground while the bronzes are first cast in the sand or with the ancient lost-wax technique and then chiseled and gilded. This splendid pair of lamps dates back to 1970, although it can still be found in the catalog today. It comes from a Florentine family in excellent condition, missing only the fabric hats that the buyer can buy to his taste.
Excellent state of preservation.
