San Polo Ceramic Panel With 7 Tiles And Lights, Italy, 1950s
Artist: Otello Rosa Per Ceramiche San Polo
Ceramic panel with 7 tiles of which: 4 characters with Venetian mask and musical instruments and 3 with light points. The composition is hand-painted with a pure gold finish, made by Otello Rosa for the Venetian manufacturer San Polo in the 1950s.
San Polo specialised in the production of artistic ceramics, active since 1947 (for about twenty years) and founded by Riccardo Mason in Campo San Polo in Venice. Among the permanent collaborators was the craftsman Otello Rosa, artistic director of the factory from 1951 to 1959 and creator of this ceramic.
The entire panel measures 100x25 cm, each tile is fixed on a wooden panel. The first tile on the left is signed and bears the production mark ‘San Polo Venezia Italy, O. Rosa’.
The state of preservation is very good. The entire work has had its wiring changed and three new light bulbs inserted.
