" Flemish School. Enca, End Of The 17th Century "the Village Dance In A Tavern" H./wood."
Beautiful Flemish School framed, this charming oil on wood represents a lively cabaret scene where musicians, dancers and customers gathered in a joyful atmosphere give themselves to their hearts' content in a party atmosphere where the dancers with enthusiasm set the tone. This panel of healthy solid wood is painted with delicacy finely in a beautiful balance. The Work dated in a cartouche of the painting gives the date of 1640; this has the merit of being clear. The beautiful glaze and the normal micro cracks, the luminosity of this interior scene and the details such as the gallant scene of a villager who undertakes a woman who seems to interest him, the attentive little dog in the foreground marking the attentive pose in profile, all the details are present with skill for this painter affirmed for this painting by Teniers le Vieux or his entourage (unsigned and bearing the inventory number 649, on a label affixed to the back). A charming painting, of good quality in good condition and very much in the spirit of the request from the middle of the 17th century.
