Empire-consulate Antique 18ct Gold Ring With Garnets

Reminiscent of a Renaissance Ring with its domed, pyramid shaped central stone.

This antique ring is set with Rose cut Garnets and a central pyramid shaped Garnet also with a Rose cut.

This central motif is secured in place with gold wire. This is found in antique jewellery and I have included 2 photos of other rings with Garnets set with the same gold wire.The central part is fixed and secure. All in a closed back setting as is  normal for jewellery of this age.

The central Garnet has a small crack running through it but it is not easily visible.

A rare and unusual ring. Not hallmarked, as is usual for the date of the ring. Tested as 18ct gold. The Garnets are a deep crimson.

Dating to circa 1790-1820.
