""port" Console In Mahogany And Guaiac Wood, Second Half Of The 18th Century"
"Port" console from the North of France in mahogany and guaiac wood, it opens with a large drawer in the belt, it rests on four arched legs ending in caprid sabots. The legs are connected by Chantournées crosspieces. The top in black speckled brown marble is recessed and molded with a fillet. This marble named STINKAL comes from the quarries of the Boulogne region. The hanging handles and the lock entry are in cut brass. Period lock. The fretwork of the crosspieces as well as the choice of handles brings us closer to an English influence. Maintenance restorations and small restorations at the bottom of the front sabots. Rare port console in solid wood with the base in nicely nuanced guaiac wood.
