Interesting drawing from the very beginning of the 19th century representing the town hall of Basel in Switzerland animated by many characters. Ink and wash drawing and watercolor highlights. This is indeed an original drawing and not an enhanced engraving. Full of amusing details. The architecture of the facade and the fountain is very faithfully represented. There are a multitude of animated scenes featuring many characters. Full of charm and historical interest. Later but old frame. Dimensions: with frame 31.5cm by 25.5cm. On sight: 24cm by 18cm.
