Provenance: Private London collection Dimensions: 47" x 37" framed approx Maria Filopoulou b. 1964 – Born in Athens in 1964, Maria Filopoulou studied painting in Paris at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts under Leonardo Cremonini between 1984 and 1988. Her works are mainly based on her home country of Greece and are held in collections around the world. Her figurative art has a recurring theme of water, delighting in the process of creating three-dimensional images on a series of large two-dimensional canvases. In her own words, she describes the happiness, relaxation and union with nature found in water that she wishes to convey through her much-admired work.
