Male Nude in Studio, 19th Century Harold William Boutcher (1867-1903) Large 19th century Newlyn School portrait of a seated male nude, oil on canvas by Harold William Boutcher. Full-length studio nude portrait of excellent quality and condition. Housed in a gilt frame. Boutcher, born in London and a frequent exhibitor at the Royal Academy, was a close friend of his fellow Newlyn School painters Stanhope Forbes, Henry Scott Tuke and Harold Harvey. He died at the age of 36 and as a result his works are rare and rarely offered for public sale. Dimensions: 39" x 27" framed approx. Provenance: Private collection of the late Sir Donald Cory.
