"The Jewels, Repoussé, Tibet 18/19th"
The precious jewels, fragment in partially gilded repoussé, 18th/19th century, probably part of an important set inside a monastery. Three jewels symbolize the very foundation of Buddhism, namely the Sangha, which represents the community of monks, the Dharma which is the set of Buddhist teachings and the Buddha the one who is awakened. Here three additional jewels refer to other important notions of Tibetan Buddhism. Some small surface losses and an old repair visible on the back of the object. Uncommon representation in this large format.
