Henri-Pierre Lejeune was born in Saint Ouen on June 27, 1881. He exhibited from 1902. After spending 5 years in North America, he devoted himself to landscapes. His submissions to the Indépendants were appreciated, from 1910 and in 1911 with Le moulin de Valmont. The artist again took part in the Salons of the French School in 1909, 1910 and 1911, as well as those of the International Union of Fine Arts and Letters in 1910 and 1911. Member of the Rainbow Committee in 1917-1920, and of the Armor Painters in 1919-1921, he held two private exhibitions at the Manuel gallery in 1920. In 1919, the city of Paris bought a seascape from him (Côte sauvage à Quibron). Vannes Museum and Montmorillon Museum. In 1919 and 1922, he made two study trips to Italy and Tunisia. Exhibited in 1926 at the Indépendants. He taught at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Poitiers. Beautiful composition for this small landscape with very sure values.
