"Elegant Bronze Sculpture With Flowers, V Bruyneel"
Bust of a young woman from the Belle Époque period, in bronze with a gilded patina, resting on a marble pedestal. The smiling young woman wears a ribbon tied around her neck, and her hair is pulled back in a high bun. The emphasis is on the neckline of her blouse decorated with flowers. It is almost as if her smile is emerging from a bouquet of flowers. Signed and engraved “V Bryneel” on the back. Victor Léopold BRUYNEEL was a Belgian sculptor born in 1859, who worked in Paris and mainly made busts of women.
