He studied in the years 1941 – 1945 at the Slovak Technical University in Bratislava. Department of Drawing and Painting (prof. M. Schurmann and G. Mallý). In the years 1945 – 1948 he continued his studies at the Academy of Applied Arts in Prague (prof. J. Bauch and A. Pelc).
He lived and created in Bratislava. He worked in the field of painting, drawing, graphics, book illustration, monumental-decorative work, and also devoted himself to spatial objects and the creation of toys.
He made a significant contribution to the visual arts in Slovakia in the field of abstract, geometric-constructive development and remained faithful to it even during the socially unfavorable times of the previous regime. He is its distinctive and leading personality. He left an equally significant, original creative mark in the field of book culture, especially in the illustrations of books for children and young people.
He received a number of domestic and international awards for his work. He had more than 25 solo exhibitions at home and abroad. He participated in many collective domestic and international exhibition events. In 1970 he represented Czechoslovakia at EXPO 70 in Osaka.
His work is published in 20 publications on fine arts. In 1995 a book monograph of his work was published.
