"Night Clock" Boulle Julien Le Roy 1686-1759. The original bronze will be gilded. This is a clock, probably from the early period of Julien Le Roy's work. The clock and console are preserved in their original condition. The case mechanism and console are original. Le Roy used an anchor type of escapement in the mechanism. The clock face is signed. This is a very important collector's clock. Height with console 81 cm. Julien Le Roy (1686-1759) was a prominent clockmaker in 18th century Paris. Examples of his work can be found in many major museums around the world, including: the Louvre in Paris and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
