Portrait Of A Woman In Bust

This is a lovely portrait of a woman that we are offering here, full of grace and sensuality. We were not allowed to identify the author of this portrait and a search for paternity with the Swedish painter Michael Dahl (1659-1743) had to be abandoned. We therefore stick to a French school and place it in the first quarter of the 18th century. We were also unable to identify the woman at the origin of this portrait. This painting has been dusted. As is often the case, the varnish is dirty and we think that a little restoration work would allow it to regain all its freshness and clarity. Details: - Oil on canvas. - Formerly oval in shape; enlarged around the edge. - Relined and framed. - Old restorations, small losses.
