Narcisse HENOCQUE was born in Mont-Saint-Aignan on December 15, 1879. He was a student of Joseph Delattre at the "Académie Libre" on rue des Charrettes in Rouen and remained very influenced by the master. In 1907, first participation in a salon then exhibited regularly at Legrip in Rouen. A subtle colorist, his painting reveals his delicate sensitivity.
