Portrait of Duke Athanase-Gustave-Charles-Maris De Lévis-Mirepoix. Born in 1792 in Aix-la-Chapelle, he is the son of Charles-Philibert-Marie-Gaston De Lévis-Mirepoix (deputy to the Estates-General), he was a student at Saint-Cyr in 1809 and became the King's bodyguard in 1814, then squadron leader, lieutenant-colonel. Then ordinary gentleman of the King's chamber, commander of the Legion of Honor. In 1827 he was named peer of France. He was a marquis, then duke of Mirepoix, marquis of Léran and by marriage to Charlotte Adélaïde de Montmorency Laval duke of Laval and of San-Fernando-Luis. He died in 1851 in Paris.
His coat is decorated with fleurs-de-lys on the collar and buttons.
