Frank Myers Boggs known as Frank BOGGS (1855 – 1926) (American – naturalized French and active in France) In Paris, he was a student at the École des Beaux-Arts then exhibited regularly at the Salon des Artistes Français In 1885, he exhibited in New York and Chicago in 1893 alongside the American Impressionists. In love with Paris, its quays and its monuments, he is attached to the banks of the Seine. An insatiable admirer of French and foreign ports, he multiplied the views of these sites in solidly constructed paintings, with cloud-swept skies, often overcast. Thus F. Boggs painted in Normandy, Brittany, Holland, England and Venice. His favorite subjects were rivers and ports whose aquatic element allowed him to suggest the multiple nuances of the atmosphere. He also distinguished himself with his highly appreciated watercolors. The works of Frank BOGGS are present in the Museums of: Boston, Montreal, Mulhouse, Nantes, New York, Niort.
