A vari-coloured gold mounted chalcedony snuff box.German, late 18th century.
Measures 7.8 x 6 x 3.2cm.
The body of the box is carved from two pieces of unusual yellow and green chalcedony, most likely chrysoprase and mounted with vari-coloured gold mounts decorated with fruits and flowers.
The high carat gold mounts are marked with 19th century French ‘ET’ duty marks.
