Astronomy Pendulum / Clock - Urania - Empire Period

PENDULUL with the allegory of Astronomy in gilded and chiseled bronze, depicting URANIA reading (muse of astronomy and astrology), his elbow resting on a bookcase-shape clock surmounted by a terrestrial globe and a laurel wreath, flanked by a telescope hoisted on a column.

White enameled dial with Roman numerals.

Base decorated with garlands, cornucopias and a vase, ball feet decorated with palmettes (the left rear foot replaced by a foot of similar dimensions but with a slightly different decoration).

Number 1631 struck on the back of the base.

Mechanism not tested. The key is provided.

Empire / Restoration period, circa 1810 / 1820.

Clock completely cleaned, good general condition, traces of oxidation.
