Jules Van De Veegaete, 1886-1960, Belgian painter of portraits, figures, nudes and landscapes. Watercolourist, draughtsman, engraver and sculptor. He was a pupil of Jean Delvin and Ferdinand Willaert at the Academy of Ghent. In 1920, he was simultaneously awarded the Prix de Rome for Sculpture and the Second Prix de Rome for Painting. His compositions reflect an intimate atmosphere, made of silence and calm, bathed in a kind of mist generating melancholy Works in the Museums of Brussels and Aalst. Artist listed in Bénézit, Arto and Piron, Coté Artprice, Artnet, Akoun, etc...
