Work Attributed to Jean Delvin, 1853-1922, Belgian, painter, pastellist and draughtsman of figures, animals, portraits and genre scenes. Pupil of Caneel at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent and of Portaels and Cluysenaar at that of Brussels where he became professor and then director. If his bullfights recall Goya, he was above all the painter of the horse which he most often represented at work. Works in the Museums of Brussels, Ghent, Liège, Venice and the Museum of Modern Art in Paris. Artist listed in Schurr, Dictionnaire des Petits Maîtres de la Peinture, Bénézit, Arto and Piron. Artprice, Artnet, Akoun, etc.
