Jhane Joly, French School 19th Century ''still Life With Morello Cherries''

Artist: Jhane Joly
Biographical data is truly quite limited, so far at least. Jhane Joly also known as Jeanne Joly, was born in Marcigny in Saône-et-Loire on March 1, 1874. She studied painting with the famous Jean Laronze (Jean de Laguerné) and Édouard Krug (1829-1901).

Miss Jhane Joly exhibited successfully and constantly at the annual Salon in Lyon, and in Paris at the annual exhibition "Salon des artistes français" Miss Jhane Joly is one of the great PostImpressionist painters of the 19th century, renowned for his complex still lifes. His mature works are striking for their vivid palette and sensitive brushstrokes
