Rectangular frame in carved and gilded wood, decorated in the corners and in the center of the sides with sculptures of architectural elements, plants and rocailles. The contrast between the smooth moldings of the sections without sculptures and the latter, the absence of crest and the asymmetry of the piece are striking. The latter was common at the beginning of the Rococo period, an artistic style born in France that developed mainly between 1730 and 1760 approximately. -
