In a simple interior, a seated surgeon, dressed in a blue smock with split sleeves and a red cap, treats the toes of a peasant sitting opposite him with a tool on a flat table. The patient grimaces in pain. A man standing with a crutch and a bandaged right arm watches them both. To the left of the group, next to the wooden front door, a man is seen with his back to a fireplace, above which are several boards with various tools such as tongs, lidded bowls and jugs. On the right, a room leading to the depths with a wooden ceiling and a standing chest, above which hangs on the wall a humorous picture with the faces of two men, who are probably depicted before and after a nose operation. Painting with many details in predominantly beige-brown colors.
