Carlo Marchesotti, Large Wall Sculpture, 1979, Stainless Steel Carlo Marchesotti was an Italian sculptor born in 1944, who settled in Argentina and adopted Argentine nationality. He studied at the Manuel Belgrano National School of Fine Arts and began exhibiting his works in 1967, both in Argentina and Italy. Notable participations include the Salon de la Mutualité de étudiants et diplômés de beaux-arts in 1977, the Salon de Santa Fe in 1971 and 1977, the Salon Nacional in 1978, and the Encuentro de Pinamar in 1978. Marchesotti received several distinctions, including the Correa Morales Prize for Sculpture at the Municipal Salon in 1969, the Prize of the Ministry of Government at the Salon de Santa Fe in 1971, the First Prize at the Salon de San Fernando in 1974, the First Prize at the Salon Nacional in 1978, and the Grand Prix d'Honneur at the Salon Nacional in 1979. He worked especially with Carrara marble from the province of San Luis. Carlo Marchesotti died in Buenos Aires in 1988.
