Dimensions: 75 cm X 66 cm / on view 55 cm X 46 cm Henry d'Anty (1910-1998) French painter of the School of Paris, he was born in the Belleville district, son of Léon Henry and Élise Maisonnave. From a young age, he was attracted to drawing. He devotes his free time to sketching, inspired by the surrounding landscapes, he draws and paints on cardboard, canvases and anything he finds and can serve as a support. Henry d'Anty studied art at the Julian Academy and developed many affinities with the artists of the Académie de la Grande Chaumière. D'Anty paints scenes of rural life, country festivals and still lifes. He draws inspiration from Brittany, Béarn and the north of France. In 1934, he married Nelly Blondel, this marriage is part of the world of painting because the young woman is herself a painter, three children are born from this union. The Petit Palais files show that his works have been exhibited in many galleries and museums, as well as in the main French salons. Many critics such as Guy Bataille, Jean Chabanon, Paul Reboux and André Warnod were interested in his work. His name appears in the Bénézit and Pierre Morgane dedicated a book to him which was published in 1962 by Éditions Maubert. D'Anty's works can be found, among other places, at the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum in Albi, at the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec, at the Chrysler Museum of Art (USA), as well as in museums in Warsaw and Barcelona.
