"Young Woman On A Terrace By The Sea - Pastel - Circa 1910-1920 - Pretty Frame"
This work offers an enigmatic and seductive image of a woman standing on a terrace above the water. She wears short hair, in a boyish style, as they say, and a resolutely modern outfit: wide pants, slippers, swimsuit and beret. The view that is offered to her and the pearls that adorn her ears and neck, however, betray a luxurious life. We then think of the vacation spots that then become essential: Biarritz, or the Côte d'Azur in particular. Pastel and watercolor, or gouache, are mixed to bring this elegant woman to life. The work is nicely presented in a frame of the time with mirrored parecloses.
