"Holy Bishop Blessing - 17th Century "
A beautiful achievement, this wooden statue, polychromed and gilded. A fine work from the second half of the 17th century. Expressive mitred head and beardless face, our bishop in majesty is dressed in a red chasuble.He holds a crosier in his left hand and blesses with his right hand. This Holy Bishop is soothing and colorful.
The finesse of the facial expression as well as the work of the draperies could testify to the know-how of the Spanish workshops or the south of France. Dimensions of 94 cm by 34 cm wide and as deep Condition of use: Some classic losses and wormholes, repaired with polychromy and modern crosier.
