"Solid Silver Aspergeoir By Roland Et Marie, Circa 1900 Rare And Refined ..."
Solid silver sprinkler by Roland et Marie, circa 1900 Rare and refined solid silver sprinkler, made by the goldsmith Roland et Marie around 1900. This elegant object, intended to sprinkle rose water or orange blossom on hands or certain delicate dishes, is part of the tradition of goldsmith pieces designed for the oriental market (Turkey, Persia, etc.). With a height of 36 cm and a weight of 870 grams, this sprinkler seduces with the richness and finesse of its decoration. The chiseling work is particularly neat, with floral and plant motifs finely engraved on the entire curved body. The spout, designed in the shape of an openwork rose, is a superb reminder of the scent of the rose water that was once contained there. Mounted on a richly decorated stepped base, the aspergeoir presents a harmonious silhouette, typical of prestigious goldsmith pieces from the end of the 19th century. Its long, slender neck, finely decorated, is connected to the main body by a small chain. A magnificent testimony to the know-how of French goldsmiths of the time, at the crossroads of Western and Eastern influences.
