Beautiful work by the French painter Maxime Noiré which represents a view of Tipaza in Algeria animated by a character.
With his palette of warm colors, the artist was able to skillfully transcribe the sunny atmosphere and vegetation of the Algerian coast.
Born in Guinglange in Moselle, Maxime Noiré is a self-taught painter who settled in Algiers around 1882 for health reasons.
He went to the Algerian South, where he discovered the oases and the Aurès. He later settled in Bou-Saada.
In 1905, he was appointed official painter of the Navy and Colonies. Maxime Noiré is one of the founders of the Society of Algerian and Orientalist Artists.
He participated in the creation and promotion of the Abd-el-Tif prize and the Villa.
He exhibits in various exhibitions in Algeria and at the Salon des artistes français.
His work is critically acclaimed and he establishes himself as a major figure among orientalist painters.
Dimensions: 45 x 105 cm without frame and 73 x 130 cm with its beautiful orientalist frame in original carved wood.
