"Monoxyl Coffee Grinder - Popular 18th Century Tool - Curiosity "
Popular monoxyl coffee grinder - 18th century

Superb coffee grinder of popular manufacture, carved in one piece in the mass of a branch (monoxyl). Its wrought iron mechanism, as well as the drawer knob, bear witness to ancient craftsmanship (Certainly purchased or exchanged or recovered).

To say a word about this popular monoxyl work which is made without apprenticeship or advanced technical initiation, worked from a first draft, but with great dexterity and authentic charm. It can be compared to understand the style of naïve art and art brut, where instinct and expression take precedence over academic rigor.

From the 18th century, this unique piece is in good general condition. A small crack and a few insect bites, without affecting its solidity, underline its authenticity and its experience.

Dimensions:

Height with handle: 24 cm
Height of the mill: 16.2 cm
Diameter: 9/10 cm

A unique and therefore rare object, ideal for collectors of popular objects or items linked to the history of coffee.
