The painting depicts the crucified Christ surrounded by the Virgin, the Magdalene and Saint John. The execution is of great quality, the painting is rich in details, on the faces of Saint John, the Virgin and the Magdalene you can see the tears running down their cheeks. The colors of the draperies are of extraordinary effect. The copper panel is very thick, as befits high quality paintings as the cost of the material was very expensive. The panel has exactly the arched shape of the frame, which is its original, with its beautiful original leaf gilding.
