"Chalice Paten Agent Vermeil Minerva Henri Nesme Cross Case Pb 409gr 20th Century"
Chalice and its paten in finely chiseled silver gilt, flattened knot mounted on a round foot decorated with a stylized cross, Minerva hallmark and goldsmith Henri Nesme* (goldsmith J&C for the paten), in its original case, circa 1950 20th century. This chalice is in good condition and is of very good quality (it is weighted). The paten (probably not original, but fits it well) is hallmarked Minerva and goldsmith J&C most certainly for Jamain & Chevron. This chalice and paten were consecrated on June 24, 1953. Please note: some small scratches and wear on the gilt, small shock and deformation on the edge of the paten, see photos. * Henri Nesme, who died in 1935, has the hallmark HN on either side of a chalice. He carved his hallmark on July 25, 1924, crossed out on December 31, 1964. Succession of Maison Berger-Nesme: Goldsmith's house founded in Lyon by Henri Nesme, descendant of a family of goldsmiths from Lyon. Hallmark carved in 1889, crossed out in 1924.
