Sandstone capital carved in its color, with two bands of acanthus leaves, volutes in the corners and towards the center and a decorative vegetal element in the center of the upper part. Thanks to its decorative elements, it can be linked to the Corinthian order, the most ornate of the architectural orders of classical antiquity, the first known example of which was in the temple of Apollo in Basas in 427 BC. Subsequently, this type of order (and its derivatives) was very widespread in European art. Compare with the columns of the Pantheon in Rome, Italy. -
