Antique gold ring of the "Toi et Moi" type with a diamond and a sapphire, encircled by a diamond ribbon. The name "toi et moi" refers to the characteristic setting of the stones used next to each other, which were meant to symbolize intertwined souls merging into one. A popular engagement ring motif at the beginning of the 20th century. Ring in 14 carat yellow gold (fineness 0.580) and silver elements fineness 0.990. Provenance: Austro-Hungarian Empire, early 20th century. Its sophisticated Art Nouveau shape is adorned with an "antique" brilliant-cut diamond weighing approximately 0.75 ct. (MN color, SI2 clarity). On the opposite side of the diamond is set a magnificent cabochon-cut blue sapphire weighing approximately 1.30 ct.
