"Maffrash Shahsavan Fragments Set - Persia. Circa 1850"
Set of three pieces from the same Maffrash Karabag (Caucasus). The Maffrash are the largest carrying bags used by the nomadic populations of Persia and the Caucasus. The idea was to present these treasures of perfection in a coherent and highly decorative set. The two small square panels were used to make the two cushions. The back is in "Camel" velvet for comfort and softness. The other piece, made up of the two large rectangular panels and the bottom of the bag with successive beige and dark brown stripes, can be placed on the floor or hung on the wall. The 4 panels are made using the Sumak technique with extreme finesse and refinement. The plant shades are incredibly fresh considering the age of this exceptional piece, they contain eternal light.
