"Montauroux Oil Jar "
Jarrre made in the Montauroux region (Var), there were several pottery workshops and factories in the 19th century, particularly specializing in the production of jars, tiles and other utilitarian ceramics. One of the best known was the Vieillard family pottery, which made terracotta jars and containers for oil and wine. Other workshops in the Var, particularly around Salernes and Biot, were also renowned for their production of glazed pottery and jars, used for storing agricultural products.
