Very rare set of 12 Louis XIV period knives in solid silver and period blades in forged steel. They are in an excellent state of preservation. Each blade is marked with a cutler's mark (crowned star) and the word "ATH". Some handles are engraved with the initials IBD and sometimes with an engraving that recalls the star on the blades. According to their style, shape and the nature of the blades, they are perfectly datable between 1700 and 1740. It is absolutely rare to find such a beautiful set of large Louis XIV period knives still having their original blades. The set weighs almost a kilo.
