"The Victor - Allegorical Bronze By Adiren Gaudez"
Superb bronze sculpture entitled "The Winner" by Adrien Etienne Gaudez, a renowned French sculptor of the 19th century. This piece embodies the celebration of triumph, depicting a victorious young man in full movement. With a light and airy step, he proudly raises a laurel branch in his right hand, symbol of glory and success. His finely sculpted loincloth, enhanced with delicate patterns, accentuates the dynamism of the composition. His joyful and determined expression, as well as the antomical modeling, testify to Gaudez's talent for capturing the energy and realism of movement. At the back of the base rests a shield reinforcing the heroic symbolism of the work. The terrace is decorated with a plaque bearing the inscription "Winner by A.Gaudez - Hors concours" attesting to the prestige of the artist who benefited from official recognition allowing him to exhibit without being subject to competition. This bronze rests on a molded mahogany base that I redid. The original one was made of fir covered with red velvet that had been completely damaged by time. The patina was redone by a bronze worker. This brings the sculpture back to life by highlighting each detail of the modeling desired by the artist and its original shine. Sculptor: Adrien Etienne Gaudez Period: Late 19th century Material: Bronze (patina and mahogany base redone) Total height: 57 cm Excellent condition!
