"China – Guan, Small Jar – Zhou Dynasty"
Small saddle-shaped terracotta jar with two handles decorated with raised lines and two small protuberances on each upper part. It has a dark olive patina imitating bronze. The neck is decorated on its upper periphery with a frieze of hollowed grooves. The upper edge of the belly is highlighted by three double lines in the shape of waves meeting on two sides a small relief applique imitating bronze. The underside of the base is decorated in hollow with a design representing a line flanked by perpendicular lines reminiscent of a plant or tree leaf. The Siwa culture is later than that of Machang and Banshan. It is contemporary with that of the Zhou, but perpetuates Neolithic traditions. Origin: China.
