It is this model, quite rare, unsigned, that we are presenting.
Beautiful small brass lamp, resting on a molded oval plate, a small round oil stove is inlaid there. Above the combustion surface, supported by one bronze column snake shaped, and adjustable in height by screw, an alcohol sphere, (Aeolian ball or eolipile), with its iron spring valve, its funnel and tap, and its bent spout so that the gas from the alcohol brought to the boil activates the flame. (see last photo, a Bertin lamp in action).
Object from beginning of 19th century, a soldering lamp from the past, for use of goldsmiths, assayers and refiners, now a small museum piece.
