"Large Amphora Vase By Albert Schneider - Virginia Creeper"
Superb and majestic amphora vase in flamed stoneware with iridescent reflections signed Albert Schneider (1877-1954) for the cytère workshop in Rambervilliers. With a height of 45 cm, this remarkable piece displays a sumptuous relief decoration of Virginia creepers typical of the Art Nouveau style and the production of the cytère workshop but also an incredible variation of colors from one side to the other depending on the viewing angle. Its elegant handles and its enameling with bluish and golden shades give it a unique shine. Albert Schneider, a talented sculptor and ceramist, is recognized for his work within the cytère workshop, founded in 1903 and famous for its flamed stoneware with iridescent effects. Inspired by nature and the organic forms of Art Nouveau, he creates pieces with very fine sculpted reliefs often decorated with plant motifs such as Virginia creeper and horse chestnut leaves. Thanks to his mastery of enamels and specific firings, he gives birth to works of rare visual intensity.
