He trained at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Marseille, where he was a student of Alphonse Moutte, then at the Beaux-Arts in Paris, where he became a student of Léon Bonnat and Henri Martin and obtained a city scholarship. From 1904 to 1936, he exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français, of which he was a member.
