Calder is a modern painter and sculptor. He was born in 1898 near Philadelphia (United States) and died in 1976 in New York (United States).
He is best known for his sculptures, but he also made a series of gouaches composed of geometric shapes in primary colors.
He created abstract sculptures and metal structures. He is a friend of the artists Fernand Léger, Joan Miró, Piet Mondrian.

Alexander Calder

Hand-knotted in Merino wool.
Very good quality wool.

Size : 250x200 cm
Condition : Good condition, slight variation in the weave: the beige wool turns gray (this effect is due to the color of the beige and gray wool threads used), which can make it look like a stain (visible on a small area).
