One shows a young boy seated while engraving an amphora, and has the following inscriptions: EXPOSITION INTERNATIONALE/MILAN/1906/SECTION FRANCAISE/TRANSPORTS/ART/DECORATIF, and in the exergue: COMITE FRANCAIS DES EXPOSITIONS A L'ETRANGER
It is signed “Ovide Yencesse” at the top left behind the boy's head.
The second shows a young woman carrying baskets in front of the Simplon tunnel, which links Switzerland to Italy. The annotation “SIMPLON 1898-1905” is also visible on the entrance to the tunnel, in reference to the years of work that led to its construction.
It is signed “Ovide Yencesse” at the bottom right.
Ovide Yencesse (1869-1947) was a French sculptor and engraver specializing in medals. He participated in numerous exhibitions and fairs, where he was awarded many times.
Some signs of wear are visible on the velvet support.
Slight gaps between the rods of one of the frames.
