Martin Bollé, 1912-1968, Belgian painter. Painter of clowns, dancers, flowers, genre scenes, interiors, still lifes and urban views, Martin Bollé finds inspiration in the world of the humble. His brushstroke is broad and flexible. Pupil of Constant Pellegrin and Jules Brouwers in Vilvoorde, as well as at Saint-Luc in Schaerbeek and at the Antwerp Academy. Godecharle Prize 1933 and 1935, Prix de Rome 1940. He worked in the Netherlands and France. It begins with a dark palette, this one lightens after 1958.
